Sikhs don't have any religious leader nor do they have any priestly class for performing religious functions. At their place of worship which is Gurudwara, there is usually a person who act as more of a care taker than being a religious leader. That person is usually called Granthi or Bhaji. Sikhs do have what they call Akal Takhat where they do make religious decision. The head of Akal Takhat is called Jethadar. This organization is a service organization of concerned Sikhs who seek the welfare of their community and are prepared to work for it in a low profile manner. It was formed in 2011 by several Sikhs and has gradually expanding and now has members from other states. All members pay dues; these are budgeted to support various projects and to entertain new ideas or ventures. The Association is legally incorporated
